THE OPPORTUNITY
Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Forklift Operator to join our team in our Roofing department. The shifts are Tuesday - Saturday. We offer a competitive compensation package with benefits starting after 3 months.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform daily inspections of forklift and complete required forms
Ensure forklift maintenance and servicing requirements are met
Load/unload roofing products, requires some manual moving and stacking
Build orders to required specifications for delivery
Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials
Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands
Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
Other duties as assigned by management

THE REQUIREMENTS

Valid forklift certification (propane)
Forklift experience is essential
Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
Knowledge of basic mathematics
Warehouse experience is an asset
Physical requirements include:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Sitting and driving for longs periods of time
Frequently climbing up and down stairs
Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
A positive can do attitude is essential
