The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario's capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act.

The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk.

This mandate is performed through policy, operational, adjudication and enforcement work. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development.

The Client Support Specialist monitors and maintains technical support services for the OSC end user community in a timely, efficient and professional manner.

The Client Support Specialist's role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.

This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user help requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain Service Level Agreement expectations.

Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as requiring that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide first level client support to troubleshoot and resolve IT End User Support related issues (workstations, mobile devices and other peripherals) for end users in a timely and professional manner
  • Mobiledevice setup and support, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Workstation deployment, configuration and decommission
  • Asset inventory management through accurate updating and reporting of hardware and custodian assignments within the IT Asset Management tool
  • Perform activities and duties remediating software vulnerabilities and privilege access controls on our deployed fleet of workstation assets
  • Participate in and perform various project tasks as assigned
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of technical concerns of users in the meeting room and all devices (e.g. TVs, projectors, MS Teams enabled rooms, etc.) across in the different areas of responsibility depending on the urgency and priority
  • Provide regular Preventive Maintenance of meeting and video conference rooms
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
  • Provide suggestions for continual improvement

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering Technology or any related program from a College.
  • Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in an IT environment.
  • Experience providing support to nontechnical users
  • Experience in computer hardware support and setup, including desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices and printers
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft M36
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows
  • Knowledge of computer networking principles
  • Must stay current with latest technology
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear and concise communication, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
