THE ROLE
The Banquet Chef plans, coordinates food preparation and manages cooking activities of all NPP catering and functions.

You plan the menus for special events for all NPP catering and functions, provide instruction to staff for new cooking techniques and new equipment and train staff in standard kitchen operating procedures.

You manage, coordinate and implement cooking activities and procedures. You ensure food meets quality standards and provides timely resolution to client inquiries and complaints.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**High school diploma
AND several years experience in commercial food preparation, or a related field


AND
Current Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program Certificate for cooks

Food Handling Certification, as required


Experience
In planning, organizing and managing catering in food service establishments

In managing food and labour costs

In personnel administration


Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.


LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential
