Job Summary

  • The Registrar's Office is a large, multiunit, multisite operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Coordinator, Academic Records, the incumbent supports the effective management of the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) and accompanying student processes as well as supporting the processes and procedures required for accurate and efficient student registration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inquiries and communication with departments in relation to DARS requests and student inquiries.
  • Assist with updating student records to support effective registration. This includes confirmation and verification of registration for various student populations and assisting with resolving registration errors and problems, and notifying students of course registration changes and updates.
  • Provide training and support for DARS and online registration procedures. Conduct training for internal and external advisors, faculty and departmental staff in interpreting degree audits.
  • Regularly review areas of Dalhousie website that reference degree audit and registration, ensuring these are kept uptodate.
  • Provide backup support to the Senior Clerk, Records and Academic Support as required, including assisting with parchment production and the confirmation of enrolment and graduation letters.

Note
The successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Business/Office Administration diploma with approximately five years' related work experience in a university setting (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proficient communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Assets

  • Previous experience within a Registrar's Office.
  • Knowledge of the Ellucian Banner system and CollegeSource uAchieve.
