Description

Musselman Excavating is a local growing excavating company that is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a part of our Sewer and Watermain division.

If you have mainline excavator experience, enjoy a positive work environment, manual labour and working outdoors this position may be right for you.

Salary:
$30-$38/hr, dependent on experience

Hours:40-55 hours a week

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate the mainline excavator on a sewer and watermain crew
Responsible for maintaining steady production and skillfully excavating to proper depth and grade
Operating safely in close proximity to multiple pipe crew labourers
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Perform daily pre and post trip inspections
Fuel and grease equipment daily
Comply with all company health and safety guidelines, understand and adhere to OHSA requirements
Responsible for own transportation to job sites
Other duties will be assigned as required

Desired Skills and Experience

23 years of previous mainline excavator operating experience required
Previous experience as an excavator operator is a must
Working knowledge and understanding of reading drawings, reading locates and setting grades
Must be safety conscious
Excellent team player
Great communication skills
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Must be punctual and personable
Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety training
