We have an exciting IMMEDIATE opportunity for a Vacuum Truck Driver to join our team in Delta.
***We are seeking skilled and experienced Vacuum Truck and Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our team. As an operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating vacuum trucks and hydrovac trucks to perform various industrial and environmental services, including waste removal, excavation, and spill cleanup. Your expertise in handling and transporting dangerous goods in compliance with DOT specifications will be critical to ensure the safe and secure transportation of hazardous materials.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate vacuum trucks and hydrovac trucks to perform assigned tasks, including waste removal, excavation, and spill cleanup.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies while operating the trucks.
  • Conduct pretrip inspections to ensure the proper functioning of equipment, including vacuum pumps, hoses, and valves.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and equipment as needed.
  • Follow DOT specifications and regulations regarding the transportation of dangerous goods, including proper placarding, labeling, and packaging of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all documentation and recordkeeping requirements related to the transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job assignments, safety concerns, and project updates.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and professional conduct at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating vacuum trucks and hydrovac trucks.
  • Proven experience operating vacuum trucks and hydrovac trucks in an industrial or environmental services setting.
  • Indepth knowledge of DOT specifications and regulations pertaining to the transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Familiarity with placarding, labeling, and packaging requirements for hazardous materials.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to operating vacuum trucks and hydrovac trucks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor tasks as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)

Certification:
Trained and certified in handling, transporting, and documenting dangerous goods according to TDG regulations.

  • Safety Protocols: Deep understanding of safety protocols and adherence to all relevant safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard identification.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures for vacuum and hydro vac equipment, including inspections, fluid checks, and minor repairs.

Emergency Response:
Familiarity with emergency response protocols, including spill containment, hazard mitigation, and communication with relevant authorities.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Ability to accurately complete paperwork and maintain detailed records related to job tasks, equipment maintenance, and TDG documentation.

Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

Problem-Solving:
Proficient in identifying and resolving operational issues, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and making sound decisions in challenging situations.

Physical Fitness:

Possess the physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
