RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.
Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.
The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position summary
General Duties
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent:
- Work with the principal investigators to design and conduct projects,
- Liaise with intra
- Oversee and support the student research work,
- Role model of professionalism, respect, selfcriticism,
- Contribute to the safety of the group,
- Master the following techniques: PCR, ELISA, IHC, IF, Western blot, optic and confocal microscopy, tissue sections, histological analyses, image analysis, murine modelling, animal surgeries, culture/inoculation/monitoring of murine bacterial infection, behavioral assessments of animals, cell culture,
- Master thorough biomedical statistical analysis,
- Participate to administrative duties regarding students, financial administration, review and edition of articles, research projects, ethic protocols, SOP,
- Participate to our weekly lab meeting and journal club.

Master's Degree
Field of Study:
Adapted to the research program

- French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Attention to detail and accuracy, team spirit and rigor,
- Good analytical and logic skills,
- Problem assessment and problem solving abilities,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Demonstrate diplomacy, discretion and good judgment,
- Flexibility to work on weekends and beyond the 9 to 5 workday, as required by animal experimental schedule,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook), image analysis software, statistical software.
Status:
Temporary Part-Time, 18 hours per week
Pay Scale:
$26 per hour
