POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Technician, Mine Operations - Driller will safely operate drills and related equipment while ensuring operational needs are being met in a safe and environmentally sound manner.


MAGINO MINE:


The Magino Project is a brown-fields site located in northern Ontario, Canada that contains an historical underground gold mine, landfill and tailings management facility ("TMF").

The Corporation has conducted a Feasibility Study during 2017 that examined mining the deposit using conventional open pit mining methods and extraction of gold from the ore using a 10,000 tonnes per day carbon-in-pulp ("CIP") mineral processing facility.

When developed, Magino will produce around 150,000 ounces of gold during the first five years of production. The project has over a 15-year mine production life (including one year of pre-production).


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate a variety of drills and related equipment in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Ensure all machinery is safe, appropriately document and report any faults or potential hazards.
  • Strict adherence to safety in all tasks and interactions, including prestart up, startup and shutdown checks.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and monitor all equipment and gauges for irregularities.
  • Take appropriate corrective action to prevent any negative impact on the environment or quality and report noncompliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a mine or other heavy industry environment.
  • Familiarity with drills and previous experience working near earth moving equipment.
  • Experience with Sandvik drills preferred, DI650i & DR410i.
  • A team player with solid communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • First aid and other relevant certifications would be an asset.
  • Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements.

  • The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
  • Magino promotes a drug and alcoholfree workplace and has adopted a zerotolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
