What you will do:
The incumbent in this position supports the faculty and students in the Hearing Instrument Specialist Program in the laboratory and clinical environment
Responsibilities include:
- Reinforcing practice skills, providing feedback based on predetermined criteria/learning outcomes and providing technical expertise for students in the Hearing Instrument Specialist Clinical setting to become proficient in the performance of skills as established by Faculty.
- Preparing the lab and clinic environment by settingup materials and staying abreast of current and new resources for Faculty recommendation in lab courses.
- Liaising with community partners for offcampus Hearing Instrument Specialist fieldwork experiences to ensure that the community partners are supported in providing learners with offcampus clinical placements.
What you bring to the role
Education
- Two-Year Diploma or equivalent in a Hearing Health Related Field. Hearing Instrument Specialist is preferred.
- CPR & First Aid are required.
Experience & Skills
Minimum of 2 years practical working experience in the hearing health industry. This experience is required to provide the support required in the Hearing Instrument Specialist Clinic.
- Able to explain standard operating procedures to students, faculty, staff, and work study students.
- Demonstrates excellent clinical practices in the areas of hearing health.
- Registered member of the Association of Hearing Instrument Professionals of Ontario (AHIP).
