Description

Our finishing lab is responsible for cutting, edging and mounting lenses into spectacle frames for orders from 7 optometry clinics / opticals across the GTA.

We are in search of an organized, self-directed individual to manage all laboratory operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with experience in the optical or optometry industry who can work independently, adapt easily to new systems, communicate well with others and has excellent organizational skills.

Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:

Coordinate all receiving and shipping of finished eyeglass jobs from all locations
Manage and properly receive ophthalmic lenses
Communicate with different clinics to manage shipping and production of individual jobs when required to ensure proper production and timely turnover
Oversee and manage all lab operations
Ensure our lab technicians are processing jobs in the correct order and are running efficiently overall.
Report to management for ideas to improve cost, lab supply management, stock lens management, lab process management.
Manage computer systems to keep track of all orders going in and out.
Update and maintain stock lens inventory.
Update and maintain lab equipment and supplies.
Develop and implement new office programs, processes and policies to grow our lab productivity and quality of service
Maintain and clean edging equipment for optimal performance.
Assist in frame repairs when required

Goals:

Complete all edging jobs as accurately, quickly and efficiently as possible.
Manage lens inventory, job orders and turn around times effectively.
Improve technical knowledge and skills
Work with management and clinic teams to improve lab productivity and quality of service
Care for all patients in our practice to the best of your ability

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Pay:
$21.00-$23.00 per hour
