Position Summary


The Mobile Outreach vehicle (PORCH) offers health and social service supports throughout the Kingston area at set locations throughout the week.

Services are delivered by KCHC staff in collaboration with other service organizations and offer supports such as:

counselling, wound care, addiction medicine consults, psychiatry, hepatitis C testing and treatment, harm reduction supplies, as well as referrals to other needed community programs.

The RV Driver will be responsible for driving the 40ft Mobile Outreach vehicle to specific locations throughout Kingston and surrounding rural areas.

General Duties

  • Drive RV to different addresses and through different routes
  • Follow routes, traffic laws, and time schedule
  • Prepare, inspect and operate RV
  • Perform walkaround inspections
  • Fill fuel tank and water tank and dump waste
  • Follow all Health and Safety guidelines
  • Desire and capability to drive safely

  • Complies with all relevant legislation and KCHC policies, including privacy laws
  • Understands the importance of trauma responsiveness and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Understands the importance of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigenization and Accessibility (EDIIA) by promoting and practicing inclusion
  • Supports all team members, including students and volunteers
  • Promotes awareness of and participation in KCHC activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement
  • On occasion, perform other temporary duties as required

Qualifications:


Basic Education and Experience Requirements

  • Valid Z class driver's license
  • Valid G driver's license
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Previous RV driving experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in mental health, addictions or working with marginalized populations, an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate, manage and problem solve using effective negotiation and people management skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the positon
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple staff and mínimal supervision

Additional Requirements:
Other Requirements - Current and clear Criminal and Vulnerable Persons Check - French language is an asset - Proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption - CPR/1st Aid training an asset - Must be available to work evenings and weekends - Valid Driver's Licence, Driver's Abstract and proof of vehicle liability insurance as this is a requirement under KCHC's insurance provider (HIROC)
