Scope of position:

The Maintenance/Handyman is responsible for the effective functioning, upkeep, and physical appearance, of furniture, and equipment in the Home. The Maintenance/Handyman will coordinate and/or liaise with external service providers (e.


g:
snow removal, trade specialists) to ensure completion and quality of service.


Part-Time Work - 15 to 22.5 hours per week **
Additional Key Responsibilities:
  • Regularly maintaining equipment and furniture and providing general upkeep to the physical site and its large systems;
  • Ensures the outdoor facilities and lawn are maintained;
  • Ensures resident suites are properly maintained and complete small repairs on resident suites;
  • Sources and orders services/supplies focusing on obtaining the highest quality for the most reasonable price;
  • Maintains the appearance and upkeep of the home by implementing regular painting and decorating plans and ensuring all furniture and fixtures are operational and in good repair;
  • Schedules and conducts regular preventative maintenance activities;
  • Conducts regular fire and emergency preparedness drills;
  • Provides minor building, electrical, plumbing, and equipment repair services to ensure the optimum functioning of the home and equipment coordinates with external specialized service providers for support as required;
  • Identifies and investigates physical deficiencies and equipment malfunctions and takes the appropriate corrective action;
  • Receives and stores all nonkitchen related deliveries;

Education/Experience:


  • Experience as a maintenance worker;
  • Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, lawn care, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and equipment maintenance.
