Job Summary:

Your role:


  • Create and roll out a consistent, corporate work planning process and tools that enable prioritization and resource allocation throughout the corporation
  • Project outcomes should include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Best practice research to present options for standard work planning processes, tools and templates that could be successful within this organization
  • Train and educate staff and departments on a corporate approach to prioritization, timing, resourcing, and communicating work activities
  • Create a standard review process to update and maintain accuracy of workplans after they are developed
  • Develop a process for staff at all levels of the organization to have the ability to identify projects that need to be paused or deferred with their leader
  • Develop a process for any new priorities and/or projects outside of the normal planning cycle to be made in reference to work plans
  • Assist staff/departments when they are identified as a project support to determine the resourcing requirements
  • Evaluate current organizational processes/performance and determine appropriate projects to support work planning
  • Support the implementation of the City's corporate strategic plan with emphasis on successful integration of work plans with departmental business plans and corporate budget process
  • Support the implementation of corporate performance measurement frameworks, policies, and processes
  • Develop and maintain formal project management documents including project charter, schedule, risk register, and business case, among others, and ensure project management rigour is consistent with protocols of the City's Project Management Office and PMI
  • Communicate and present written, verbal and digital reports to a variety of stakeholders, including the executive team
  • Facilitate and lead meetings with City staff, internal departments as a representative of the Strategy, Innovation and Intergovernmental Services team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated experience leading corporate business transformations in large organizations
  • Experience effectively influencing stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Resultsoriented with the ability to manage risk and ambiguity on a project
  • Knowledge of PMI project management methodologies. Professional Project Management (PMP) designation would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean process tools and continuous improvement tools and practices is not required, but would be considered an asset
  • Welldeveloped critical thinking, consultation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication (written, oral, presentations) skills with strong interpersonal, relationship management, networking, collaboration and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple and changing demands and priorities.
  • Travel, evening and weekend work is not expected, but may be required

Rate:

$43.47- $54.34 per hour
