Job Summary


This fixed term contract position will provide a variety of learning activities for children from 0-6 for our new little-learners program.

These activities will happen both on camera and on site in different locations.

The Program Facilitator will prepare and deliver an interactive learning program for children, their parents/caregivers, and provide support and assistance to families with all aspects within an EarlyON setting.

This position requires travelling across the Naigara region to our mobile/pop-up sites.

  • Facilitate an early learning program focused on the physical, cognitive and social development of children between the ages of birth and six years
  • Listen and reflect with children, parents and peers to provide opportunities for supportive learning
  • Provide resource and community support information
  • Collaborate with staff, parents and children to plan and implement program according to children's interests and developmental strengths and needs
  • Attend to participants at all times during program hours
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of Port Cares and EarlyON Best Practices
  • Maintain program, participant and staff confidentiality
  • Maintain a professional relationship with parents and uphold a positive image of EarlyON
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing environment, conducive to child development in all areas of the program
  • Cleaning, setting up and storing program toys, etc., and opening/closing and other administrative duties
  • Travel between our permanent and mobile sites on a daytoday basis

Education, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Diploma relating to Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education, Child and Youth Worker or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an early learning setting
  • Working knowledge of "How Does Learning Happen"
  • Knowledge and skill in developing age appropriate quality early learning activities and programs for children between the ages of birth to six years
  • Respect and sensitivity for individual cultural, educational and social uniqueness and diversity
  • Ability to understand and support children, families and colleagues in a positive, nonjudgemental manner
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • G Driver's license with a clean record is required
  • Own transportation as the ability/willingness to travel to any of our 6 locations is required (Port Colborne, Welland, Pelham, Fort Erie, Lincoln, West Lincoln)
  • Clear current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
  • Above average written and verbal communication in English; fluency in French would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of community and social services
  • Experience oncamera or as a social media influencer is preferred
  • Must be fluent / advanced in using Facebook and Instagram
  • Experience in facilitating workshops (asset)
  • Excellent organizational & computer, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to Social Inclusion
  • Ability to speak a second language is a great asset
  • Ability to edit video is a great asset
  • Proof of full COVID19 vaccination status is required.

  • Understand and demonstrate age appropriate and developmental child guidance
  • Awareness of the learning process and the ability to follow a child's lead to expand learning opportunities
  • Plan and facilitate a variety of developmentally appropriate programs for families and responds to diverse cultural needs
  • Prepare developmentally appropriate programs for infants/toddlers/preschool children and their families
  • Provides families/caregivers with evidenced based information to questions based on all aspects of a child's development
  • Support families/caregivers by providing agency referrals and contact information in the community
  • Support families in understanding the importance of interacting with their children during the program

From $38,000.00 per year
