The HR team is composed of 5 teams:

ABOUT THE POSITION
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs.

This includes depending on the country, programs such as the group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, stock purchase plan, 401(k) plan, RRSP, DPSP and retirement plan).


  • Investigate new benefit programs, improve existing programs, supervise and monitor benefit administration. Design employee benefit plans. Provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.
  • Enrollments in the different benefits programs such as Health Insurance, Pension Plan, Continuation of Health Coverage (COBRA), terminations and/or changes, in coverage, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers,, distributions, loans, hardships and other
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records.
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
  • Promote and manage wellness activities for the region
  • Implement and maintain benefit records. Prepare regular benefit reports extracting data from the database. Provide the technical support, test system functionality and work with end users to provide system support and troubleshoot system problems.
  • Ability to research employee benefit plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value.

Profile required:


What you bring to our team:

  • Excellent communication skills in French and English and organizational skills.
  • Project and leadership skills and experience
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on the proposals (RFP's).
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • 36 years of work experience in Benefits or Employee Benefits Administration required
  • Strong understanding of the different regulations under Canada Federal and Provincial in Ontario and Quebec such as Employment Standard Act (ESA) CNESST regulations required
  • Good understanding of US regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Worker's comp a plus
  • For Canada, CPHR and for the US, PHR and CEBS professional designations is considered an asset.
