About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Inventory and System Data Management, the incumbent will be tasked with building a team of MRP controllers.
- Ensuring the required stock levels.
- Working with our clients on planning and developing an efficient flow.
- Maintaining good inventory management practices.
This key role requires facilitating dialogue between the various departments (Maintenance, Operations, Asset Management, Purchasing, Finance, Warehouse, Accounts Payable) to improve overall efficiency and simplify communication.
The supervisor will also contribute to developing and automating our systems and optimizing the use of our tools and databases (SAP MM Hana, Optimiza, SAP PM, BI, etc.).
In this role, you will:
- Developing routines and ensuring that client needs, our indicators and the actions taken to support our clients are reviewed frequently with our clients.
- Ensuring advanced monitoring of our priority needs (shortages, emergencies, critical parts, etc.) to reduce risk and track any necessary corrective actions.
- Supporting the planning department to fully understand upcoming needs and putting in place the best strategy to support these needs (forecasting, reservations, inventory).
- Working closely with asset management, project, purchasing, and systems data teams on coordinating stock levels where assets are to be removed and replaced (phase in/phase out).
- Supporting the operations and purchasing teams with the repairables process.
- Ensuring fast and effective monitoring of the consistency of daily MRP purchases.
- Coordinating inventory and working with the warehouse on improving service quality.
- Providing technical support to employees and internal clients in the event of issues relating to the parts warehouse.
- Ensuring that various processes and tasks are available and distributed and training is provided.
- Contributing to the optimization of our warehouses by collaborating with foremen and supporting them during the integration of new technologies/systems.
- The ability to develop and use key indicators to prioritize team tasks, track progress and communicate them to other teams.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in inventory management/MRP/requirements planning in a manufacturing/industrial environment where maintenance is the primary focus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing a supply chain team.
- A university degree in a field related to inventory management, logistics or purchasing, or a combination of college education and experience.
- A good level of English will be considered a very important asset for working with our other regions.
- Good working knowledge of the SAP MM module and Fiori, and proficiency in Excel.
- Assets: SAP EWM, Microsoft BI, Smartsheet.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts such as Lean Manufacturing (asset).
- A team player with organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to simplify and explain concepts, a focus on customer service.
- A keen interest in data analysis and optimizing system operations.
- The ability to document, monitor and implement actions or corrections.
- Knowledge of maintenance planning would be a plus.
