Honda Downtown, luxury dealership is looking for a Shop Foreman to join our amazing team


Job Purpose


This position is responsible for supervising the workshop with the objective of achieving a standard level of quality, efficiency and profitability.

The Shop Foreman has direct supervision over the Licensed Technicians and Apprentice Technicians.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide Technicians with instruction on repair procedures and contact the Manufacturer Technical Department as necessary.
  • Ensure that the Apprentice Technician training is proceeding as required.
  • Ensure that all Technicians are familiar with service bulletins, rules and safety matters.
  • Inform Service Consultants of additional work required and direct Technicians as required.
  • Approve work orders and ensure times allotted are not exceeded and that additional work is documented accurately on the work order.
  • Road test vehicles upon completion of work.
  • Ensure that time controls operate as prescribed by Management.
  • Ensure that general order in the workshop is maintained; including maintenance of special tools, equipment and service literature.
  • Maintain the accuracy of warranty work and that parts exchanged are returned for claim.
  • Advise Service Consultants and Technicians whether work is CP, warranty or internal.
  • Arrange emergency service coverage as specified by the Service Manager.

Qualifications:


  • Master Technician Qualification.
  • G Driver's Licence.
  • Clear Driver's Abstract.
  • Minimum of five years of automotive industry experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Knowledge and use of power, machine and hand tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of different vehicles and their service needs.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team, managing his or her time and work flow.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Proficient with CDK and/or Reynolds systems, ability to operate PC based software.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to influence change and effectively lead projects.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
