We are looking for an experienced Planning Technician to join the Planning Services Division team, Community Development Department available immediately.
The focus of this position will be to:
What you will be doing
Review, analysis and research of current housing types and conditions for the purpose of determining needs and compliance requirements.
Interpreting and confirming Zoning By-law, Official Plan and Heritage designation status.
Assist with project management administration and consultant inquiries.
Assist in processing policy revisions including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Community Improvement Plans, and Financial Incentives for Council's approval and the Chief Planner's approval.
Assist in preparation of presentations and recommendation reports for Council.Education
Two-year College Diploma in Planning or Similar
Experience and Knowledge
1-2 years related Planning experience.
Possession of a current Certified Planning Technician designation or eligible for Registered Professional Planner along with a valid Drivers' License is required.
We will ask you for these items if you are hiredProof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
Your compensation
This position is within Grade 7 of the inside workers union Salary Schedule and has an annual salary range of $37.41 to $39.76.
Hours of work
The current regular hours of work are in accordance with the collective agreement, however, currently are 8:30am to 4:30pm., Monday to Friday; some evening hours are required.
