This position reports to:
The Program Manager

Starting Date:
As soon as possible

Employment status: 35 hrs/week / Indeterminate

Salary:
$26.76/hr

Main Responsibilities:

Outreach to GAR youth
Assess and respond to initial and ongoing needs
Perform regular followups, virtually and inperson, including via home visits
Evaluate client progress at the beginning, middle and end of the program
Plan and implement group workshops
Provide GAR youth with information about relevant services and improve their access to these services
Encourage the participation of newcomer youth in educational, social, cultural and civic activities
Outreach to community services to address GAR youth barriers and challenges
Develop and sustain partnerships with other community organizations
Prepare documentation and statistical information as required by the Manager

Key Qualifications:

Postsecondary education in the Social Services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and demonstrated competence in working with newcomer youth
Knowledge of services and resources available to assist GAR youth
Strong presentation skills, interpersonal skills and cultural competency
Ability to outreach to and partner with mainstream and settlement services
Ability to facilitate workshops and group sessions
Fluency in oral and written English is REQUIRED
Fluency in French and other languages is a strong asset
Ability to perform duties independently and with mínimal supervision
Ability to function in a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse workplace
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Office 365, PowerPoint and Excel
