The Opportunity

Mosaic is seeking an Operations Contract Manager to work out of our Nanoose Bay office on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.


The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, Operations - Central Island, the Operations Contract Manager will be responsible for leading contract and operations planning management activities and ensuring product quality and safety performance expectations are effectively managed.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership in safety and environment through personal example;
  • Adhering to and demonstrating a commitment to corporate values daily;
  • Leading contract management and associated operations activities;
  • Planning operational activities including harvest and road construction;
  • Ensuring log quality and value planning are optimized with effective implementation to meet standards that satisfy customer needs;
  • Managing longterm operational planning and annual budgeting and monitoring and reporting performance to plan;
  • Providing leadership in implementing contract management systems as well as negotiating rates, facilitating competitive bidding, and resolving operational issues at competitive cost;
  • Ensuring union agreements are met, while negotiating and resolving issues and implementing longer term strategic goals and objectives;
  • Overseeing development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives; and
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to foster a resultsoriented, innovative team environment.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years production experience or combination of operational planning experience;
  • 2+ years production supervision or contract management experience;
  • RPF or RFT eligibility with the ABCFP is preferred but not required;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage deadlines, multiple projects and budgets;
  • Strong negotiating skills;
  • Experience managing contracts in a unionized environment and/or experience managing helicopter logging operations is preferred but not required; and
  • Valid class 5 driver's license or equivalent.

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $106,770 to $133,435. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill, relevant experience, and education.
