Strathmore has an exciting opportunity seeking an experienced
Special Projects Coordinator.
Reporting to the Community Support Coordinator, this position will play an integral role in developing and implementing the Strathmore Welcoming Initiative, which aims to build community capacity to meet the needs of newcomers within our community.

Position Summary:
The Special Projects Coordinator will work with the Community and Social Development Department coordinating the Strathmore Welcoming Initiative Project for the Town of Strathmore.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and foster partnerships with local service providers, community organizations, residents, and businesses
- Host and facilitate regular meetings
- Design, implement, and evaluate community programming and events
- Event planning, coordination, and dayof support
- Facilitate training educational opportunities for community partners
- Develop copy to support website, marketing, and social media campaigns
- Manage grant budget, activities, timeline and reporting requirements
- Flexible schedule to accommodate events, programming, and meetings that are outside of work hours
Successful applicants will demonstrate on their resume
- Postsecondary education with a focus on social services
- Continual professional development in relevant field
- Two years experience working for a nonprofit organization
- Experience building collaborative partnerships with community organizations or service providers
- Marketing and event planning experience
Our Interview questions are intended to assess the following behaviours:
- A self starter with the ability to work independently and as a team
- A passion for event and program planning
- Excellent communication skills with proven examples of strong advocacy, research, development, and analysis skills
- Commitment to working all major events and programming inperson
