The Prime Brokerage Group at TD Securities provides money managers the flexibility to trade with multiple brokers while consolidating one master account with our firm.

This centralized service lets clients focus on portfolio management and building their business while leaving the operational and administrative matters to us.

Job Description:

The Secured Funding desk (functional group within the Prime Brokerage Group) raises & deploys liquidity and funding for the various business within Global Equities (Global Equity Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Cash Equities).

This associate role will cover two key areas:

A) Programming on the desk and working closely with our tech partners to develop new tools & infrastructure.
B) Engagement in the day-to-day P&L generation activities of the business (pricing, trading, booking, and sales).

Technical projects will include, but are not limited to:
Developing on-desk code to streamline processes, and automate away menial tasks
Utilizing optimization algorithms to price & allocate collateral across our trading & collateral books globally
Performing trends analysis, analytics, and visualizations of both the Secured Funding and broader Prime Brokerage business' risk and P&L via Python based visualization libraries
Enhance existing code base for inefficiencies
Partner with various internal teams (Unsecured Funding, Finance, Operations, etc ) to optimally raise liquidity and funding that meet the firms regulatory and internal requirements
Build client relationships to source liquidity and funding for TD from other market participants
Operate effectively within the defined regulatory control framework and ensure inherent risks are timely reported, escalated and mitigated
Develop strong relationships with Front Office, Risk Management, Technology and Operations, while promoting an excellent client experience.

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field (MBA and CFA will be an asset)
Technical skills in Python, SQL, VBA, Macro, GitHub etc
Strong understanding of databases, data structures, and best practices in coding, version control, and deployment of ondesk scripts
Knowledge of Securities Lending, Repo, Total Return Swaps, FX Forwards would be an asset
Experience and knowledge of clearing and settlements would be an asset
Understanding of LCR, NSFR, and BASEL III regulations would be an asset
Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized with the proven ability to set priorities
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fastpaced environment
Superior interpersonal skills with both clients and colleagues
Strong customer service orientation and focus on delivering high quality service
Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute however and wherever possible;
