The Kentville Parks and Recreation Department provides top quality recreational programs and
services for Kentville and area residents, and is looking for adventurous, enthusiastic employees

Your Opportunity
The Town of Kentville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking the following eight (8)

Summer Park Staff positions:

Summer Parks Staff (up to 8 positions available) Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, this
position is responsible for the maintenance of the Town of Kentville green spaces, trails, and
other recreational spaces. This position involves physical outdoor labor and the position will be
needed for weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Daily supervision and scheduling will fall to the
Parks Supervisor.

Parks employees should enjoy being outside and be capable of daily physical exertion.
Successful applicants will have some experience or be comfortable using small scale equipment
such as lawn mowers and whipper-snippers. Parks employees learn valuable skills including
basic green space management techniques, teamwork, and equipment maintenance, all while in
a fun and supportive environment.

As a Town of Kentville Summer Park Staff you must possess:
A valid driver's license

We are looking for an individual who:
Is hard working;
Can work both individually and as part of a team;
Is task oriented;
Loves the outdoors (in all weather);
A creative problem solver and able to adapt quickly;
Has a strong work ethic.

This is a 40 hour/week opportunity with some evenings and weekends as required. There are

three start and end dates for employment:

  • May 1 to August employment opportunities
  • June 5 to August employment opportunities
  • July 4 to August employment opportunities
All positions run until August 27th. If applicants are able to work full time or part time hours past
start.

One position is responsible for keeping our downtown looking vibrant during the summer
months by keeping all hanging baskets and planters watered. This is the main priority of this
position with other park responsibilities listed above integrated into your schedule. If you have
