What you'll do:

Reporting to the VP of Food and Pharmacy, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Deli Department, including adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, people and financial management, safety and asset protection.

Establish short-term strategies, goals, and objectives for the department in alignment with the strategic plan. Your duties will include

Oversee, plan, and manage daily operations for the Deli Department. Establishes shortterm strategies, goals, and objectives for the store in alignment with the strategic plan.
Prepare, administer, and achieve budgeted goals as it relates to the pricing, sales, margins, expenses, inventory of the commodity and sales per employee hour (SPEH).
Oversee adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, image standards, safety, and asset protection.
Responsible for building strong customer relationships and delivering solutions. Oversee and monitor client satisfaction levels, ensure customer issues are resolved, and identify areas for improvement. Participate in the development of products and services to improve profit and increase customer satisfaction.
Provides leadership to a team of deli clerks, including the recruitment and selection of new team members, performance management, performance appraisals, training and development of team members.
Oversee the completion and follow through of all safety and environmental policies and procedures and ensure standards are achieved.
Ensuring the department meets and maintains food safety requirements and follow government accredited food safety programs.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

Grade 12 or equivalent is a must
At least 5 years' experience in a Deli Department

years' supervisory/retail management experience preferably in the food/grocery industry is preferred

Food Handling Certificate
Has strong problemsolving skills and is able to remain calm under pressure. Strong customer service and analytical and problemsolving skills are required.
Effective team leadership skills and work well within a diverse multigenerational, highly motivated team
Possesses strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and the ability to manage computer files efficiently.
Comfortable in working and learning new HR and Finance Technology
Knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin and inventory management
Comfortable working with different types of operating equipment such as a pallet jack, walkie stacker and computers/till.
Must be capable of occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.
