Position Purpose:
The Meter Data Coordinator operates Guelph's MV90 and AMI systems and supports related meter data processes.
This position is responsible for monitoring, performing and supporting daily, weekly and monthly interval data processes, related daily operations and interfaces to other enterprise systems, for both MV90 interval data and ITRON UIQ AMI metering systems.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and analysis of electrical consumption data from remote interrogation metering installations (RIMS), reviewing data and reports for reasonableness, resolving or working with other resources to resolve data quality issues related to monthly RIMS billing processes
- Monitor and support daily and monthly MV90 meter data gathering, load data tracking, verification, reporting and settlement processes as required
- Monitor and support the smart metering backoffice system with respect to meter information, interval data and register reads, related meter data, meter communications including on the AMI mesh as well as endtoend, interfaces to other enterprise systems, as required
- Processing meter and AMI network device trouble reports, troubleshooting and support resolution efforts
- Communication to metering crews regarding meter issues or field communication issues supporting MV90 and AMI operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge
, Skills and Competencies:
Education & Specialized Knowledge
- Successful completion of a 3 year Community College diploma in a relevant technical field, preference given to electrical technology or computer science, or recognized equivalent experience in a technical field.
- Familiarity in working with remote metering and revenue meter data acquisition systems such as MV90
- Knowledge of utility functions such as metering, engineering, or operations, and experience in office administration including clerical work and records management is an asset
- Basic familiarity with electricity revenue metering, including working with and interpreting customer electrical consumption data from metering installations
- Knowledge of power factor and ability to calculate bills for all rate classes
Experience
- Requires a minimum of 3 years related experience

- Demonstrated ability to work productively and accurately with special attention to detail in data review, analysis and entry
- Demonstrated ability to solve moderately complex problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with internal departments, external contacts and customers
