Our Chemical Specialists are accountable for the sales of research and production chemical products within a defined territory, serving customers engaged in academic, pharmaceutical, biomedical, industrial, food and agriculture, environmental, and other fields of research and development.

The Chemical Specialists develop opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.

A Day in the Life:


  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet assigned revenue and profitability sales targets and expand business within assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with key suppliers within the assigned portfolio.
  • Team up with other Thermo Fisher Scientific business units to support lead generation programs.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for efficient management of territory.
  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.

Keys to Success:


Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in chemistry, chemical engineering or biochemistry
  • MSc or PhD a plus

Experience

  • 3+ years of sales experience OR equivalent lab experience.
  • Strong technical and lab experience in chemistry, chemical engineering or biochemistry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Fully bilingual (French and English)
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills to multitask and meet deadlines as needed.
  • Able and willing to travel to customer locations (3040%).
