Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid)
About the Role:
You'll be working on things such as:
- Pitch, chase and write stories for with a focus on Manitoba.
- Generate original story ideas
- Manage the front page of the Global Winnipeg and CJOB website
- Create, edit, and publish video content to website and social media channels
- Available to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Other duties as assigned
- Post-Secondary education in journalism or broadcasting
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a small/medium market.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Experience with video storytelling and video editing is an asset.
- Familiar with online publishing tools (i.e. WordPress)
- Understanding of how major news organizations are employing a wide range of digital platforms and formats
- Ability to handle the demands and pressure of multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines in a hightech environment
- Proven abilities as a team player with a positive attitude
- Selfstarter with good communication skills
- Familiarity with Canadian Press style would be considered an asset
