Work Status:
Temporary Contract (10 Month Contract)

Location:
Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid)

About the Role:

You'll be working on things such as:

Pitch, chase and write stories for with a focus on Manitoba.
Generate original story ideas
Manage the front page of the Global Winnipeg and CJOB website
Create, edit, and publish video content to website and social media channels
Available to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
Other duties as assigned

If you have the want to hear from you

Post-Secondary education in journalism or broadcasting
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a small/medium market.
Strong writing and storytelling skills
Experience with video storytelling and video editing is an asset.
Familiar with online publishing tools (i.e. WordPress)
Understanding of how major news organizations are employing a wide range of digital platforms and formats
Ability to handle the demands and pressure of multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines in a hightech environment
Proven abilities as a team player with a positive attitude
Selfstarter with good communication skills
Familiarity with Canadian Press style would be considered an asset
