Overview:


As a member of the Chatham team, the Loader Operator/ Yard Person will be engaged in many phases of plant operations.

The varying responsibilities include but not limited to, plant daily preventive & corrective maintenance, housekeeping, loader operation and maintaining the bin levels in accordance with Lafarge's Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipment's and plant operations.

This role may require some travel when operational support is required at the Windsor site.


Responsibilities:


  • Promote safety culture through:
  • Engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Implementation and maintenance of local and regional safety initiatives with an objective of "zero" safety incidents.
  • Administer and promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure that the plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
  • Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is scheduled and completed as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the Chatham, Ready Mix Plant and site

This includes:
learning about the batching process and being able to assist when needed. Helping to keep equipment around and in the plant maintained.

  • Strong communication skills, we have an active site with many pieces of mobile equipment in and out of the yard. You need a strong radio presence and effective communication to promote safety within the yard.
