Position Overview:

We are looking for a Door Hardware Technician/Locksmith to join our Service Department.


Responsibilities:


  • Attend service calls, trouble shoot issues, and provide solutions to customers (working with other departments as required)
  • Provide excellent customer service on behalf of the company
  • Install, service, and repair commercial door hardware
  • Install, service, and repair automatic door operators
  • Install, service, and repair hollow metal and wooden doors
  • Install, service, and repair electromechanical hardware
  • Lock installation, service, and rekeying
  • Complete and submit documentation as required
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:


  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must possess a valid Ontario G class driver's license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have a safe place to park a company vehicle overnight
  • Must have a clean criminal record
  • Must be familiar with the GTA
  • Must be computer literate and able to learn new software
  • Must provide your own basic tools (specialty tools are provided by the company)
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must have aboveaverage technical/mechanical skills
  • Must have strong problemsolving skills
  • Must be willing to attend trainings and enjoy learning new skills and technologies
  • Must be trustworthy and dependable
  • Must have great attention to detail

Experience:


  • Experience as a Locksmith / Door Hardware Technician.

Education:


  • Industry related certificates are considered a bonus

Job Type:


  • Permanent
  • Full Time (40 hours per week)

Hours of Work:


  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • We
    DO NOT have any oncall or after hours emergency service requirement

Working Conditions:


  • Travel to various customer sites across the GTA (industrial, commercial, construction sites, etc.), coming to the office/warehouse when necessary
  • Must be able to walk, climb, stand, lift, and bend repeatedly
  • Some lifting of heavy equipment or materials (with a partner)

Location:


  • ABC Security's offices and warehouses are located at 55 Queens Plate Drive, Etobicoke, ON M9W 6P2. However, technicians mainly work at client locations.
