Reporting to the Regional Director, the Post Construction Manager will work with clients and internal teams to resolve warranty and service matters upon project completion for projects located in Ontario.

This position is based in the Mississauga, ON office and will require travel to client sites.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Project Team with deficiencies in a successful turnover of our projects to the client.
  • Tour project sites in advance of completion to gain a full understanding of the project.
  • Complete oneyear warranty walkthrough with the client.
  • Review, analyze and allocate accordingly technical audit reports from the Engineers.
  • Manage project billings and work with the accounting team to ensure timely payment of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Organize and maintain electronic files and database systems.
  • Meet with consultants, trades, property managers and Board of Directors.
  • Follow Tarion guidelines, update on timeline basis requirements for work process.
  • Prepare work schedule.
  • Quality control check completed work.
  • Regular inspections of completed work. Review and approve prior to consultant final report.
  • Complete basic minor repairs as needed such as painting, door hardware, drywall repairs, etc.
  • Enter, update and track information.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to complete repairs and service work.
  • Complete Bulletin 19 reports.
  • Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients.
  • Supervise and guide the post construction team including 4 Service Technicians and 5 Labours.
What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma
  • Relevant trade education and experience in fields such as: carpentry, drywall, mechanical, or electrical
  • Strong knowledge of Tarion Portal and guidelines
  • 10 years' experience in commercial construction in roles such as Project Manager or Project Superintendent an asset
  • Service and resultsorientated; being able to build and steward trust with a broad network of excellence, pride in teamwork and outstanding service after project completion
  • Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality and administration
  • Capable of reading and understanding project blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Experience using Procore, Microsoft Project, or other Project Management software an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Tarion Warranty Program.
  • Viewpoint Project Management system experience an asset
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
  • Strong organization, analytical, critical thinking, problemsolving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
