Our brokers are not only certified, but most are Chartered Insurance Professionals (CIPs) with commercial underwriting skills.We have an exciting opportunity in our growing Toronto office for a Broker Trainee/Surety Specialist on our Surety team.
Role Description:
As a Broker Trainee/Surety Specialist at PRL, a typical day might include the following:
- Reviewing Tender Specification and Issuing Bid Bonds and Agreement to Bonds;
- Striving to provide marketleading service and solutions for all clients;
- Monitoring the collection of receivables;
- Reviewing and coordinating renewal information;
- Preparing reports and presentations to be delivered to existing and prospective clients;
- Interacting regularly with clients and underwriters;
- Analyzing financial information and assess credit quality under supervision; and
- Presenting analysis and findings to management.
This job might be right for you if you:
- Have a related post secondary diploma or degree;
- Bilingual in French and English (strong working knowledge of French);
- Have one to five years of professional work experience;
- Possess a strong proficiency using Excel;
- Possess or be willing to obtain a valid RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario) License;
- Thrive on paying attention to details, including the ability to notice discrepancies in data, and work well under the pressure of deadlines and multiple priorities;
- Are committed to attaining or exceeding client expectations;
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills; and
- Are a strong team player with effective interpersonal skills.
