REFERENCE: 390-34B-25


RATE OF PAY:
$ $27.40/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement.
Full rate effective after 1 year of service)

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The Production Worker will work with the other trades adhering to production schedules in a safe manner.


MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Works independently and with other trades in the remanufacturing and repair of equipment used in the transportation industry
  • Works from blueprints, sketches, manufacturer's patterns, circuit diagrams or schematics, and construction specifications
  • Uses hand and power tools commonly used in the industry
  • Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
  • Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
  • May work various shifts and on weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Experience in finish carpentry, window and flooring installation considered an asset
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting and working from blueprints
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Has knowledge of safety codes and has demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be committed to Company Health and Safety
  • Must be able to work shift work
