The MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions is currently looking for a
Research Assistant I to support project related to promoting health equity or fairness in health outcomes.
The research team is lead by Dr Nav Persaud, Scientist and Staff Physician and Canada Research Chair in Health Justice.
Topics include equitable access to essential medicines, access to healthy foods and other ways to promote equity or fairness in health.
Tasks may include collecting and recording data, limited processing of data, and screening of study participants and data abstraction.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature searches
- Collect, transcribe and enter study related data
- Maintain, prepare and update website material
- Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for submission to journals
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposal to funding bodies
- Organize and support meetings
Qualifications:
- Experience working with people who have experienced disadvantages such as racism and sexism
- Experience in the preparation of grant proposal to funding bodies
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills, particularly database, spreadsheet and word processing
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical and scientific terminology
- Experience in the preparation of manuscripts for submission to journals
