Would you like to make a difference in your community? Do you have a desire to meet your community's needs with a focus on children and family? OPCC is seeking individuals with the right mix of skills and ability to join our organization.


Oakville Parent-Child Centre (OPCC) provides services and programs that make a difference for parents and families within the Oakville community.

OPCC has been helping families with young children since 1980.

We are a registered charity that has grown from one program in a church basement to a multi-service child and family centre and provincially recognized EarlyON Centre with several locations, outreach sites and a wide variety of programs.

Board members are the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for;
- determining the mission and purposes of the organization
- selecting and evaluating the performance of the Executive Director
- strategic and organizational planning
- ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management
- fundraising and resource development
- approving and monitoring the organization's programs and services
- enhancing the organization's public image
- assessing its own performance as the governing body of the organization

  • Board meetings are held approximately 6 times per year on Monday evenings
- membership on the Board is an annual commitment with for a minimum initial commitment of 2 years.

At this time OPCC is recruiting the talent of individuals with the following skill sets.

  • An educator, especially in early childhood education up to elementary school with: o Interest in and familiarity with the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care
(CWELCC) program o Experience working with HDSB is an asset o Connection to the Association of Early Childhood Education Ontario (AECEO) is beneficial o Leading and cutting-edge perspective on play-based learning, Emilio Reggio inspired learning and How Does Learning Happen o Varied pedagogical perspectives that advance decolonised education, feminist educational thought, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility representation in classroom

  • International educational and work experience are welcomed
  • An individual with a strong finance background, especially with CPA credentials as well as: o Familiarity with notforprofit funding, budgeting and reporting requirements at federal, municipal and regional levels. o Familiarity with Accounting Standards for NotforProfit Organizations and/or auditing of notforprofit organizations is an asset o Awareness of CRA requirements and emerging changes
  • An entrepreneur with: o A clear passion for education and early childhood development o Leadership and connection in the business circle in Oakville and throughout Halton o Innovation and forward thinking around social enterprise and private sector engagement o Keen ability to develop, hone and maintain long term partnerships o Knowledge in sales, marketing, brand development and promotion
  • An individual with a strong human resources background, certified credentials preferred as well as: o Familiarity with recruitment, hiring and training for nonprofit and early childhood education o Focus on building a healthy, vibrant and coveted corporate culture o Awareness of Employment Standards Act requirements and emerging changes o Commitment to inclusive and equitable practices


Individuals interested in this leadership role desire to assist OPCC in its continued journey to grow and excel in family support and child development and will be interested in serving the needs of the Oakville community.
