The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms.

Construction has begun and will take five to six years to complete.

Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Colas and Parsons.

We are currently hiring for a
Wet Utilities/ Drainage Superintendent

DRAINAGE SUPERINTENDENT (WATER/SEWER/ROAD BUILDING)

Responsibilities:


  • Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and details of projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct crews within the budget and timeline assigned.
  • Responsible for job site operations including onsite activities of Contractors and multiple interfacing projects within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Sitebased role,
  • Conduct thorough constructability reviews of detailed design and construction packages. Identify project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate project risks. These risks shall include technical, safety, cost, quality, schedule, environmental compliance, operations, and third parties
  • Establishes, coordinates, and monitors construction schedules, staging plans, and interface schedules

  • Monitors and records the Contractor's progress. Maintains and distributes detailed contemporaneous site records
  • Monitors procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget
  • Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules
  • Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance to Wastewater and Stormwater Collection Operators.
  • Ensures that employees are provided with and use the appropriate equipment, material and/or procedures required
  • Previous experience working with site development, grading and earthworks, drainage, and large paving projects
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Project
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Work with the Safety Department to ensure work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Drive positive relationships and serve as key contact with stakeholders

  • General knowledge of all siterelated construction activities.
  • Commitment to delivering results on time.
  • Excellent organizational skills and knowledge of project management, estimating, and cost control skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related Superintendent/General Foreman experience.
years of Sewer/Water/Road building construction experience

  • Equipment Operator experience an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction contracts.


  • Strong computer skills

  • MS Excel / Word / Project.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license (clean abstract preferred)
  • Successful Construction Management track record on major multidisciplinary rail projects, including track, drainage, signals, and utilities
  • Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, operations, maintenance)
  • Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills
  • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities
  • Proven knowledge of theories and practices of civil engineering acquired through a degree in civil engineering or a diploma in engineering technology or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proven knowledge of engineering and asset management theories, practices and trends to manage large contracts and projects, including reviewing, approving and implementing work plans project budgets, reviewing engineering drawings and plans.
  • Previous experience working with site development, grading and earthworks, drainage, and large paving projects
Must be able to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather (cold, hot, dust, smoke, noise.)
