Position Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervisor as needed in recruiting, training, coaching and supervising staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers understand and follow the standards of the YMCA.
  • Staff and volunteer scheduling.
  • If the Supervisor is unavailable address member complaints, and issues that may arise.
  • Role model recruitment and retention of staff and volunteers, work as a team to reach recruitment goals, develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, programs participants and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the operations of all programs and services.
  • Actively supervise all participants, instructors and ensure instructors performance is aligned with job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure program schedules have a variety of options and times, follow procedure for cancellations.
  • Follow OH&S standards.

What You'll Need for This Job

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Early childhood development or related experience is an asset
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid & CPR-C
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check
