Description

We are looking to hire experienced line leads for a food manufacturing company located in Mississauga. Food manufacturing is a must, as is someone who's able to work with minimum supervision.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and direct associates on the line to maximize throughput.
Plan, strategize, and lead their team to meet goals daily.
Assist the production supervisor in planning and executing the employee break plan.
Ensure or enforce all GMP procedures.
Maintain professional, timely communication between all team members and departments.
To always work in a safe manner, keeping safety top priority.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Ensure the equipment is set up to begin production on time.
Monitor quality on the line and ensure adherence to product specifications.
Monitor production and efficiency targets and communicate information to machine operators and production associates.
Minimize waste and rework throughout the line.
Ensure the line is balanced and reassign associates when required to optimize production efficiency and flow.
Ensure production documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure product changeover times are minimized and carried out efficiently.
Maintain urgency and efficient use of time on the line.
Other duties, as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Good leadership ability.
Ability to build trust and respect.
Flexibility of hours when necessary.
Some work on statutory holidays and/or weekends as required.
Excellent communication skills.
Good team player.
A good understanding of GMP's (Good Manufacturing Principles) is an asset.
Two years of manufacturing experience.
Food industry experience is an asset.

MINIMUM CRITERIA

Must have good attendance and reliable transportation.
Must have a good and positive attitude toward change.
Able to work in a team environment.
Able to stand and walk throughout the shift.
Able to lift up to 25 kg.
