Description

The role entails serving as the Project Functional Lead for Records & Registration within the Office of The Registrar (OTR), reporting to the Project Coordinator, Enrolment Services.

The primary focus is on enhancing OTR services through project management and fostering a service-oriented culture.

Acting as a liaison between the OTR and various Sheridan departments, the position involves leading feasibility studies and overseeing project implementations.

Key responsibilities include project definition, product and integration testing, progress monitoring, and planning the necessary sequence of activities.


The incumbent is tasked with conducting technical and business needs evaluations on behalf of the OTR to ensure alignment with the business requirements.

Additionally, the role involves taking a leadership role in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous development of the Student Administration System (SIS).

Collaborating closely with OTR teams and other Sheridan departments, the incumbent assesses project feasibility, significance, and scope. Recommendations are then provided for the development and implementation of innovative business solutions and process improvements.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Participating as the functional lead of OTR projects.
  • Participating in feasibility studies to explore the suitability of a new business process and system functionality.
  • Undertaking business analysis of the stakeholder needs for a given business need/project.
  • Initiating actions to address a raised business problem.
  • Writing test scripts and test cases to facilitate quality assurance of a solution implemented as part of a business need/project.
  • Planning, coordinating, implementing, training and maintaining Student Information System (SIS) operations.
  • Creating queries and reports to extract data from SIS based on ad hoc requests from departments requiring specific student data.
  • Providing business data intelligence through the creation of reports and data analysis of the SIS database.
  • Designing and developing customized reports using a variety of tools (e.g. SQL, TOAD software, PeopleSoft Report Writer, Tableau).
  • Researching, evaluating, planning, and recommending business and technical solutions for OTR and other key stakeholder's initiatives and services.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

  • 3year diploma/degree in information systems, business administration or a related field.
  • 5years of experience working in Enrolment services; direct experience in Records & Registration is required.
  • Experience with participating in project proposals, requirement gathering/documentation and providing status updates to management.
  • Experience with interacting with staff at all levels including senior clients such as manager, directors and vice presidents.
  • Experience with chairing and facilitating meetings.
