Department Overview

  • The
    BRR Input Team provides Borrower Risk Rating (BRR) input support for Commercial Banking Centres (CBCs), Mid-Market Agriculture (MMAG) units, TD Equipment Finance, Financial Restructuring Group, Franchise Banking, the Automotive Banking Centers.

  • BRRIT is responsible for generating modelimplied
    BRRs for existing and new borrowers by completing all Moody's Risk Analyst (MRA) inputs, including financial statement input and the input of qualitative assessment.

Job Details

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, the Manager Risk Rating is responsible for the following:
  • Use accounting knowledge, overarching input standards, and Commercial Banking lending knowledge (as applicable) to review the input work of risk rating specialists for both single company and consolidated
    BRRs
  • Understand intercompany transactions and how the elimination of same are treated when combining statements for consolidated
    BRRs
  • Hire, coach, and lead a team of 47 risk rating specialists (contract and permanent)
  • Own the results of the team and look for opportunities to improve
  • Monitor and manage the queue to ensure
    BRR requests are completed within required timelines
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the Commercial, Agriculture Banking Centres, and other business unit supported by responding to questions posed by Credit Analysts and Managers of Commercial Credit.
  • Effectively communicate the input standards established.
  • Effectively communicate with CCRM and other Credit Managers when there are conflicting views on a set of entries.
  • Assist the Senior Manager in managing the department and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • In addition to your undergraduate degree in business or relevant professional designation, specific skills include:
  • Expert knowledge of accounting basics (flows between Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow) and treatment of inter-company eliminations.
  • Must possess keen attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a highpressure environment while ensuring work is of high quality.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Results oriented.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and as a part of a team.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending /credit writing process is an asset.
  • Previous people management experience is preferred but not mandatory
