As Alberta continues to grow, the transition to lower emission forms of generation and increasing demand for electricity will challenge the province to continue to deliver a competitive and reliable electricity system while minimizing our environmental footprint.

Reporting to the Director, Environment and Technology Integration, the Manager provides leadership, advice, and recommendations in support of the effective management of Alberta's electricity generation, development and expansion of low emission electricity and supports the delivery of strategic outcomes.
The Manager is the lead for the Renewable Electricity Program, which includes overseeing financial transactions potentially exceeding $100 million annually.
The Manager provides sound advice and direction to major programs and projects, working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the effective and holistic delivery of the Government of Alberta electricity system strategic objectives and related outcomes.
To be successful in this role you must be a strategic thinker, problem solver, and be able to build relationships to support high-profile public policy development and implementation.
In this position you will have a chance to provide formal leadership to a team of policy analysts, as well in major projects and be fully accountable for associated project budgets and contracted staff.

A related university degree in Science, Political Science, Economics, Law and/or a related field plus a minimum of four years of progressively responsible supervisory or leadership experience in the area policy analysis and development, resource management in the electricity industry, is required.
Following will be considered as assets:

- Strong understanding of how electricity is a facilitator of prosperity and the requirement for sustainable development of generation to foster a high quality of life for Albertans
- Experience in effectively managing significant fiscal and human resources
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Welldeveloped understanding of Alberta's economy and the economic impacts associated with electricity
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office suite

$3,100.80 to $4,172.77 bi-weekly ($80,930 - $108,909/year)
