What You Will Do:

Provide expertise and practical advice for the implementation of environmental compliance protection programs such as excess soil and contaminated soil management, hazardous waste management, spill prevention, and Environmental Compliance Approval requirements.
Support the business with all daytoday inquiries by providing timely responses and solutions to environmental inquiries from field locations across Ontario.
Develope scopes of work and reviewing reports prepared by environmental consultants.
Develope practical and effective recommendations to protect the environment and to mitigate environmental impacts.
Prepare correspondence and reports for internal and external partners and agencies, including developing written environmental evidence and reports for submission to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).
Facilitate and participate in meetings with internal/external partners to discuss environmental projects, develop strategies and work towards resolving issues.
Develop, communicate, support, and actively promote environmental protection programs; this may include delivering presentations, training courses, and information/awareness sessions.
Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

University Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering
At least 4 years of progressive experience in excess soil and contaminated soil management in Ontario
Strong understanding of provincial (Ontario) and federal environmental legislation, including OEB environmental requirements
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and connect to a wide audience of internal and external partners
Experience designing and implementing environmental work programs to meet the Ontario requirements for excess soil and contaminated soil management, hazardous waste management, spill prevention and response, and ECA requirements.
Experience with implementing environmental management system requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able and willing to travel within Ontario and respond to emergency situations.
