Continuous Improvement Consultant:



Primary Purpose:

The role of the Continuous Improvement Consultant is to support process enhancement activities that boost performance and aid in delivering improved customer services from ConnectionPoint to University of Saskatchewan faculty and staff.

The Continuous Improvement Consultant will engage staff in specific design aspects including case for change, future state vision, current state analysis, process improvement evaluation, and business process redesign.


Nature of Work:

As a key member reporting to the Manager of Process Effectiveness, the Continuous Improvement Consultant is a seasoned professional focused on collaboration. They lead projects and initiatives to improve performance and broaden the administrative service capabilities of ConnectionPoint.

This position involves maintaining professional relationships with various groups such as faculty, students, staff, and other stakeholders. Managing tasks independently is crucial in this dynamic and fast-paced setting with tight deadlines and multiple demands. Critical thinking is essential to deliver timely, accurate services that anticipate partner needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and conduct stakeholder facilitation sessions to provide guidance on continuous improvement services and related processes.
  • Lead process mapping activities for existing and future processes involving diverse stakeholders.
  • Assess the current environment, identify areas for improvement and efficiency, and propose actions to streamline and enhance services.
  • Clearly communicate objectives, scope, and expectations of process improvement to team members and stakeholders.
  • Engage with stakeholders to grasp current situations, design future scenarios, foster commitment, and ensure project plans consider important viewpoints.
  • Compile and summarize critical information and outputs from improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with staff, management, and stakeholders to support the implementation of essential service and process enhancements.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategies and priorities to enhance operations and services for an improved campus partner experience and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments (Functional Central Office (FCO), Strategic Business Analysts (SBAs), Colleges/Units).
  • Mitigate risks by staying updated on and adhering to university policies, guidelines, processes, collective agreements, and applicable legislation.

Education:
Completion of a relevant post-secondary degree or program. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.


Experience:
Relevant background in business analysis, continuous improvement, and other process enhancement methodologies. Experience in overseeing the design, implementation, and management of software and hardware solutions, systems, products, standards, and methodologies. Proven ability to conduct group facilitation programs, utilize data for decision-making, analyze outcomes, and translate recommendations into action. Experience in a diverse and inclusive work environment.


Skills:


  • Proficient in utilizing information systems, applications, spreadsheets, and databases (e.g. JIRA, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office including Power Automate and Power BI).
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of business process automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, handling multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Skill in preparing and delivering complex issues and recommendations clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to devise innovative solutions.

Salary:
The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $66,174.00 annually. Commensurate starting salary based on qualifications and experience.
