About the role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
Regular Full-Time Manager, Digital Enablement to join our dynamic
IT Strategy and Governance team.

The work of a Manager, Digital Enablement is integral to Canadian Blood Services' role as Canada's Lifeline.


Reporting to the Director, IT Strategy and Governance, you will be responsible for leading the deployment of our enterprise integration strategy, and digital transformation and business enablement solution to support the delivery of key technical project deliverables while building a robust innovation capability.


You will be accountable for leading the business enablement technical team and defining the technology vision and roadmap for enhanced enterprise integration while ensuring streamlined delivery of technical changes supporting the digital transformation program.

Cornerstones of the integration strategy include the design, execution, and governance as it applies to both internal and external stakeholders need from a data integration perspective.

You will work with other leaders on the execution of the technology roadmap to ensure the organization is well positioned for it's long-term technology needs.


Key responsibilities include:


Develops Enterprise Integration Capability

  • Develops an integration capability for the organization to directly support and enable the broader CBS vision of seamless connectivity with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze internal and external business needs and capabilities as well as the external environment including market, industry, political and economic trends to create a compelling vision that inspires others, establishes priorities, and delivers results.
  • Defines and maintains standard integration approaches and ensures that all projects align to the defined standards.

Business Enablement

  • Participates in strategic planning activities to help identify the desired business outcomes.
  • Participates as a key technology partner in strategic business planning sessions.
  • Involved in the development of the technology strategy as part of the technology governance team providing solid recommendations to business and IT leadership.
  • Inform business process owners on industry developments and best practices that will affect them as they navigate the digital world.
  • Lead the organization in creating and implementing user acceptance campaigns for initiatives including technical implementations, digitization, and emerging technologies.

Drives Change

  • Works directly with key stakeholders to develop actionable workplans to deliver the defined business outcomes.
  • Collaborates with project delivery teams to facilitate the streamlined execution of technical changes required during project delivery.
  • Defines the integration roadmap and facilitate key changes required to improve enterprise integration opportunities while developing a highfunctioning integrated team, including managing, and enabling changes related to structure, behaviour and culture.

Innovation

  • Directly engages industry experts to understand long term trends in technology, digital and automation solutions and how they can be leveraged by Canadian Blood Services.
  • Actively maintains an inventory of emerging technologies and publishes a roadmap of evaluation criteria and timelines.
  • Unpack emerging digital solutions to identify key business capabilities needed to support adoption. Identify capability gaps to progress and end state, map capability development to Value Streams and, and manage interlock process across functions to align on plans and priorities.

Analytical Problem Solving

  • Leads the process for problem definition, solution design and delivery approach based on established integration models and best practice deployments.

Education, Training and Experience:


  • Postsecondary level education in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
  • Five years of direct experience in enterprise integration with a minimum of three years leading a team
  • Ten years of directly related IT technical experience in multiplatform, multivendor enterprise system design and integration.
  • Ability to define business challenges and desired outcomes.
  • Experience with integration methodologies and standard design patterns.
