Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Plant Superintendent oversees the day-to-day order fulfillment activities at the facility while maintaining efficient production in required quality and quantity.

This position leads the Plant Production Team in achieving key metrics for safety, environment, quality, customer service and cost.

Key Accountabilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise within day to day production, ensure that the daily/weekly/monthly production requirements are met
  • Drive change initiatives within the production team
  • Assist in planning production and in altering the production schedule as required due to changes in customer requirements and production outputs
  • Manage all labour relations issues for the production department
  • Oversee the labour requirements to meet the production schedule
  • Analyze the production reports produced in order to optimize production and labour efficiencies
  • Plan and implement projects related to increased production and line efficiencies, labour efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and codes in all areas of plant including HR,WSIB, HACCP, WHMIS, and H&S.
  • Coach and guide production team to drive continuous improvement throughout production
  • Track and manage production budget

Requirements:


  • Minimum 810 years' experience in a similar supervisory position.
  • Postsecondary education in a related field
  • Demonstrated coaching and leadership abilities
  • Handson and results oriented supervisory experience
  • Ability to foster and promote positive work environment
  • Strong written, verbal and computer skills
  • Mechanical knowledge of process and packaging
  • Proven experience in, and ability to manage within the terms and conditions of the collective agreement(s) and corporate human resources policies;
