Job Summary:

Hours of Work:

8-23 hours per week, Sunday to Saturday hours between 7:00am and 12:00am.


Your role:


Rink:

  • Operate ice resurfacer for rink resurfacing
  • Watch for and recognize potential accident causes and eliminate them.
  • Report without delay any incidents, accidents, defects in the ice and all equipment etc.
  • Ensure safety of skaters at all times
  • Supporting events on market square
  • Maintain a safe and fun skating environment

Fountain:

  • The opening and closing operations of the Water Feature
  • Operating the Water Feature
  • Daily/ regular chemical checks to ensure water quality
  • Daily/regular equipment and system checks
  • Supporting events on market square

Other:

  • Maintaining and cleaning of Pavilion building (inside and out) and washrooms
  • Emptying and replacing the liner of garbage bins throughout the market square
  • Cleaning, maintaining and disposing of rubbish/garbage in planting beds in Market Square
  • Interacting with the Public for help and inquiries
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience operating an iceresurfacer would be an asset
  • Previous experience operating water feature equipment and water treatment systems would be an asset
  • Current or ability to obtain Emergency First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Relevant experience operating a variety of tools and equipment
  • Experience in providing quality customer service
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical work
  • Team player and able to work with & without direct supervision
  • Must be a selfstarter and work well in a multitasked environment
  • Safety oriented
