We are currently looking for a
Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Thrive Cannabis operational facility.

The individual will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for ensuring the safe and proper operation, and maintenance routines of all assigned facilities in accordance with maintenance standards, legislative acts and regulations.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure efficient operation and maintenance of the facility
  • Plan and complete Reactive/Demand Maintenance work in a timely manner to provide uninterrupted service to facilities
  • Implement detailed plans and recommend policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements
  • Control and maintain within the approved budget limitations and provide input
  • Ensure the safe operation, installation, repair, and operation of all heating cooling, plumbing electrical systems, life safety systems, and architectural/structural systems
  • Consult with stakeholders, assist with development, implementation, and monitoring of the Preventative Maintenance Program on all building systems including inhouse and contracted services and audits
  • Track the life cycle of building equipment for replacement
  • Make certain that unit activities follow applicable codes, divisional standards, City Bylaws, and that all facilities legislative requirements are met.
  • Assist with scheduling and assigning staff in the utilization and maintenance of all computerized building automation and work order systems
  • Collaborate with other sectors to ensure all room set ups, deliveries, waste management, recycling activities and grounds maintenance are performed
  • Conduct site inspections and site visits with contractors
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a performance evaluation for contractors and consultants
  • Comply with safety matters under Occupational Health and Safety legislation
  • Understand and follow Divisional and Corporate procurement policies and procedures
  • General labour and other job duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Possession of a trade license relevant to the role is considered an asset
  • Postsecondary education related to the responsibilities or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Considerable experience in the management and maintenance of commercial property/ industrial building/ office building /property management or similar environment, including considerable knowledge of Mechanical/ Electrical systems, HVAC and BAS systems.
  • Knowledge of contract management, vendor management, and project management.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards as it relates to Facilities Management with the ability to assist with conducting analysis, establishing programs, and measures with specific knowledge in developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans.
  • Considerable experience in planning, scheduling, coordinating work activities and holding people accountable, both staff and contracted professionals.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff, including the preparation of briefing notes, reports and other documents.
  • Effective decision maker with a track record demonstrating innovation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, promoting organizational performance and continuous improvement and the ability to promote and foster teamwork.
