D U T I E S
Reporting to the Director, Institutional Analysis and Planning, the Manager, Institutional Analysis
and Planning (IAP) manages and leads a team of technical and analytic professionals including
data analysts and institutional researchers, who support and advance data-informed decision
making within the College by providing expertise in business data analysis, qualitative research,
survey research, statistical analysis, institutional reporting, and data storytelling and reporting.
The Manager works with all levels within the College community including leaders and senior
leadership, to help leverage research to inform and guide College strategies. They will work with
stakeholders to build capacity and capability for data informed decision-making, and they will work
with key partners to understand their priorities and strategic initiatives and develop effective and
timely analytic solutions.
- R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
- Degree in social sciences with a quantitative focus, or analytic fields such as data science /
- Certificate in management or other relevant postsecondary education in management or
- Significant experience working in a corporate or institutional research office (or similar function)
- Significant experience creating analytics for leaders to support decisions making
- Experience creating reports for boards, funders, governments, and stakeholders to support
- Intermediate research experience with specialization in either quantitative or qualitative

- Experience leading teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate complex concepts to all
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and analyze complex and nuanced
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and

- Advanced certifications and related certifications in analytics and analysis
- Experience creating, managing, and overseeing departmental budgets
- Experience in a management role
- Knowledge of data governance processes
- Knowledge of postsecondary operations
