The
Mortgage Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with Mortgage Brokers and Borrowers whose mortgages are approaching maturity.

They must review each file, assess clients' needs, provide the necessary information, and negotiate renewals with the ultimate retention goal while adhering to the set policies and procedures.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage loan sales to multiple facilities by ensuring loan files are complete, required facilities forms and reports are accurate and ensuring communication to all parties within agreed timelines.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with borrowers and/or brokers whose mortgages are approaching maturity.
  • Manage property insurance updates, amendments and cancellations
  • Assist with the management of the existing portfolio, including postfunding documents, collections and discharges.
  • Scheduling and coordinating construction inspections and preparing construction advance documents.
  • Support the borrower through their mortgage inquiries by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate options and solutions.
  • Process various updates to the mortgage account, such as borrower contact information and requested account changes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong communication skills (professional, polished, clear verbal and written communication skills).
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize high volume workload and meet strict deadlines for tasks/assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment where flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs are essential.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Working knowledge of residential mortgages and processes
