Role Summary:


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team to help develop the next generation of cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing technologies and processes.

You will gain first-hand experience with industrial cell culture technologies and a strong appreciation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) manufacturing from technology transfer challenges for CGTs from academic and clinical research to a commercial setting.

You will acquire the skills to understand the process of introducing innovative discoveries, leading to the delivery of cutting-edge solutions in cell and gene manufacturing.


Responsibilities:


  • Assists in the preparation of new process technology transfer to GMP process improvements, including protocol generation, data analysis and report writing.
  • Works effectively with other team members in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Supports writing technical documents, including standard operating procedures, project plans and reports.
  • Develops and improves the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully support assigned projects.
  • Assists and helps with colleagues' training, as necessary.
  • Participates in crossfunctional project teams to provide MSAT input and support.
  • Understands that the role and responsibilities may change with the evolving needs of the organization, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate education in industrial engineering, bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Practical experience with computer programming, process modelling, databases and statistics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and process development skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detailoriented team player.
  • Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety plans and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations.
