Position Overview:


Under the direction of the Gift Shop Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for conducting and reconciling money transactions in an accurate and timely manner.

Emphasis must be placed on exceptional customer service, as the Sales Associate will be conducting transactions directly with customers. Attention to detail is required for balancing purposes at the start and end of each specified shift.

All necessary precautions are required to ensure the safety and health of customers and ensure that safe work practices are adhered to at all time.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and strong verbal and written communication skills to promote and deliver impeccable service and standards at all times.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team oriented environment, and be able to function independently
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a highvolume, fastpaced, multitasking environment
  • Must be available for shiftwork, be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be aware of and able to work in a smoking environment
  • May require lifting weight of up to approximately 50 lbs.

Education and Experience:


  • Lottery Training
  • 12 years experience in cash handling experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience working with POS systems required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Provide excellent guest service consistent with Company's core service standards and brand attributes.
  • For the Gift Shop, responsible for all inventories on display, opening and closing procedures, inventory of Cigarettes and Lottery Scratch Tickets, follow policies and procedures in the selling, redeeming and cancelling of Online Lottery Tickets.
  • Know your Monthly Specials
  • Perform payment transactions for guests accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all items required at Lotto Desk are in place prior to the start of, and end of each shift.
  • Ensure all AGLC, casino and other provincial or federally mandated laws, policies and procedures are understood and adhered to at all times.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all guests, Gift Shop staff and other casino staff.
  • Must always report to work on time.
  • Must always present themselves in a clean neat uniform.
  • Must always maintain proper hygiene and grooming.
  • Communicate to the Gift Shop Manager or Supervisor any issues that may require assistance to remedy.
  • Attend meetings and training programs when required.
